Weather Update: No School Thursday & Friday, Sept. 24 - 25

We are closely tracking Tropical Storm Nolo and its potential impacts to Hawaiʻi Island, which are anticipated to begin tomorrow and intensify as Nolo makes its closest approach on Friday, September 25.

The safety and well-being of our haumāna, staff, ʻohana, and kauhale remain our highest priority. 

Based on the latest updates from Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense and Kamehameha Schools leadership, Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha ma Hawaiʻi will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25, in alignment with the Governor and Hawaiʻi County Mayor’s announcements.

Campus Cancellations & Closures

The following schedule updates will also be made:

• Thursday, September 24: Kamaʻāina Kids - Closed
• Thursday, Sept. 24: All athletics events - Suspended
• Friday, Sept. 25: Kamaʻāina Kids - Closed
• Friday, Sept. 25: All athletics events - Suspended
• Friday, Sept. 25: Precious Garland play at Lunalilo - Canceled
• Saturday, Sept. 26: All athletics events - Suspended

As we receive additional information, we will continue to provide any further schedule changes.  

We are actively preparing for the possibility of worsening weather conditions, and we continue to follow the latest forecasts and guidance from county and state emergency and weather officials.
