Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi student leaders record a message to remind their peers and our community about the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi's independence day, Lā Kūʻokoʻa, its history, and what it means to them as kanaka Hawaiʻi.
The resurgence of Lā Kūʻokoʻa is a representation of hope and a cognizant reminder of who we are as a people, our love for our ‘āina and our people, and where we belong.

Junior class president Kamahaʻo Halemanu wrote the script and organized his fellow student leaders to record this message to acknowledge and celebrate this lā nui.
