Next week Saturday, the East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center will open their 31st annual Young at Art show. Opening ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. on the EHCC Front Lanai and the exhibit will be on display from March 2-29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
Fifteen talented kula kiʻekiʻe artists will have their 21 works on display:
Class of 2019
Class of 2020
Class of 2021
Class of 2022
Works range from paintings to clay and paper sculptures to digital photography. Junior Nicholas Souza received an Award of Recognition for his photograph featured above, “A Conversation”.
Just to be selected for this K-12 island-wide juried art show is a huge accomplishment. It is also a true testament to the work, energy, patience and aloha of our kumu in service to these keiki.
Works from both KS Hawaiʻi elementary and middle school artists will also be on display in the show. Over 2/3rds of the works submitted were selected for display.
