Safety is a core value at Kamehameha Schools and one we consider our highest priority. Over the past year, upgrades have been made to our emergency alert and announcement systems on campus, so emergency messages can be delivered effectively and be heard whether in the classroom or in the area outside our buildings.

Another planned upgrade is to our digital system, selecting a dedicated emergency alert system, Rave Alert, rather than using the current day-to-day messaging system for emergencies. Communication is a key component of any successful system, but is critical in an emergency event. By having a dedicated system designed for emergency use, we avoid any outage or maintenance periods, and can communicate whenever it is necessary to do so. Rave also provides on-site coordination and emergency response tools in the event of an emergency.

Parents will soon receive emergency alert from our campus through this new Rave system. To help prepare for this transition, an emergency notification system test is scheduled for this Friday, October 21, 2022, starting at approximately 3:00 pm. This test will send email, voice, and text alerts to ʻohana contacts identified in Infinite Campus. This Friday's test will be a broad Kamehameha Schools system-wide test before the system is launched this year. The test for ʻohana will include all three methods of contact:

• Email alerts: Sender is Kamehameha Schools Alert (ksbe@getrave.com)
• Voice alerts: From phone number (808) 842-8375 (Caller ID: Kamehameha Schools)
• The text alert will come from one of these numbers: 226787, 67283, 78015, 77295, or 81437. The message will read, “Kamehameha Schools: THIS IS ONLY A TEST. This is a test of the Kamehameha Schools emergency notification system. You are not required to respond. Mahalo!”

To prepare for the test, we do ask if you can please login and verify that your contact information is correct in Infinite Campus and update if necessary.

• Verify that the phone numbers provided are 10-digits (ex. 8085555555).
• Verify, if provided, that your work phone/land line is functional (not disconnected) and voicemail is set up.
• If you are using call-forwarding settings, ensure your call forward target phone number includes the 808 area code.
• If needed, update information by Wednesday, October 19 in order to make sure these alerts are received.
