Have you ever asked yourself where we would be without seeds?  Second graders had an opportunity to consider that thought as they took part in Maui County Farm Bureauʻs “Agriculture In The Classroom Program.”  Led by Farmer Kaʻeo (Patrick Ornellas), students participated in hands-on activities to help them understand the importance of seeds.  They learned about the life cycle of a plant and the cultivation of crops.  Each student ended their session by planting papaya seeds. This experience compliments our visits to Kapikohanaiāmālama, as well as prepares students for the garden they will create in science.
