Alumni Month 2021

June 30, 2021

The month of June allowed for Kamehameha Schools alumni the opportunity to reconnect with their fellow classmates in ways that adhered to safe social distancing.

Alumni Month 2021 featured events such as pau hana gatherings, a drive-in movie, modified Kūpuna Pāʻina and plenty of KS brownies for all! Classes ending in “0” and “5” along with “1” and “6” were also welcomed back to the Kapālama campus with respective drive-thru lūʻau.

In addition to getting a round of golf in, Warriors even had the opportunity launa each week during “Mele Monday’s” hosted at Pearl Country Club, which sits on ‘Āina Pauahi ma Kalauao. Stewardship of this āina has long been the kuleana of KS when it was left to the school as a part of Ke Aliʻi Pauahi’s estate. Today, Kalauao is a thriving ahupua‘a of cultural and historical significance, and is both a wealth of natural resources and a gathering place for its stewards.

Alumni unable to attend in-person events were given the opportunity to participate in virtual gatherings including a mea ‘ai demonstration by Chef Kealoha Domingo KSK’89, along with the Memorial Chapel Service led by Kahu Sherman Thompson KSK’74.

Mahalo to the Alumni Relations team and the countless volunteers for making Alumni Month 2021 such a success. I Mua e nā pua a Pauahi!
