Windward Mall Hosts Storybook Hawai‘i Crew for the Red, White and Blue & Welcomes Storybook Station

Windward Mall is pleased to invite the community to Storybook Hawai‘i’s Crew for the Red, White and Blue event on Saturday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Center Court. At the event, keiki can send an uplifting message of hope to our service men and women overseas. For each message, $1 will be donated to U.S.VETS, up to $1,000.

Keiki can meet and take photos with classic superheroes like America’s Captain, Woman of Wonder, Iron Superhero, and Superhero Man. The Storybook Hawai‘i superheroes will encourage keiki to write a message of appreciation and hope on foam hearts. Keiki can watch a patriotic video with a message from the characters about how to send their thanks to the troops. Each character will have a “Care Package” box at their photo station that kids can add their hearts to. Storybook Hawai‘i will then send off the hearts to our service men and women overseas.

“Windward Mall is grateful for all the service men and women who courageously serve our country. We are proud to bring this event to the keiki in our community,” said Cesar Topacio, vice-president senior general manager of Windward Mall. “It is wonderful to partner with Storybook Hawai‘i and U.S.VETS to give back to the troops who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.”

U.S.VETS is the nation’s largest provider of comprehensive services to at-risk and homeless veterans and their families. In Hawai‘i, U.S.VETS provides mental health counseling, housing assistance and workforce development throughout the state, operating out of two locations – Barber’s Point & the Wai‘anae Civic Center.

“We are honored to partner with Windward Mall and Storybook Hawai‘i as they recognize the service and sacrifice of our military community,” said Tatsu Sasaki, development and communications manager at U.S.VETS-Hawai‘i. “Their support will ensure that U.S.VETS will be able to provide housing, jobs and counseling for veterans and their families who proudly served our nation.”

In addition to the Storybook Crew for the Red, White and Blue event, Storybook Station is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, July 3 with mermaid makeovers and visits with a real-life mermaid. The community can reserve a pre-paid appointment at www.StorybookStationHawaii.com, with walk-ins welcome. Storybook Station’s Frog Princess will also be available for photo opportunities at the new 1,254-square-foot space, located upstairs near Macy’s.

Storybook Station will open party bookings starting in August with packages that include enchanted activities of all kinds. Little guests will be immersed into a world of fantasy that includes fairy fun, mermaid makeovers, unicorns and party horns, and even a visit to princess place. From the invitations to the cake, Storybook Station has it all covered!

“Storybook is excited to be part of this important event honoring the real heroes of our country, the men and women in uniform. We welcome everyone to bring their keiki to send their messages of love and appreciation to our service members and remind them of the significance of celebrating our Independance Day,” said Casey Fortuno, owner of Storybook Hawai‘i. “We are so excited and honored to have this opportunity to be part of the Windward Mall ‘ohana with our new party and daily activity venue, Storybook Station. We invite everyone to come upstairs to visit our new enchanted space, book your future party date and hear about all the plans we have in store for our new home.”
