Public Invited to Join Easter Weekend Scavenger Hunt in Our Kaka‘ako Neighborhood April 3 - 4

HONOLULU – Keiki and adults are invited to hop on down to Our Kaka‘ako for the free Easter EGG-cellent Scavenger Hunt on Saturday and Sunday, April 3rd and 4th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Using a map containing hints, the public will search for large egg-shaped decals adhered to the exterior walls of buildings throughout the Our Kaka‘ako neighborhood in Honolulu, which includes parts of Auahi Street, Keawe Street and Cooke Street. They will stop by participating merchants where they will receive stamps on their maps that they can redeem for a sweet treat at The Barn at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako while supplies last. Scavenger hunt maps will be available at The Barn, located at 327 Keawe Street, at participating merchants and via download at ourkakaako.com/easterhunt.

“As our local economy continues to recover, we are committed to supporting our commercial tenants, many of whom are small, local businesses,” said Serge Krivatsy, Kamehameha Schools commercial real estate director of planning and development. “We are introducing fun, safe and smaller scale events, like the Easter weekend scavenger hunt, to encourage the public to come and explore the unique shops, restaurants and innovative neighborhood of Our Kaka‘ako.”

Easter Passphrase and Prize Drawing
Scavenger hunt participants who are O‘ahu residents, ages 18 years or older, will also be able to enter a prize drawing for a dinner for four at 1938 Indochine (a $150 value) after they find the unique words featured on each hidden egg-shaped decal and use them to spell out the secret Easter passphrase. They will need to complete the online entry form at ourkakaako.com/easterhunt and include the passphrase. No purchase necessary to enter.

Picture taking with the Easter Bunny at The Barn
For keiki, the Easter Bunny will be available for photos and will be handing out bottles of bubbles while supplies last at The Barn at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 3rd and 4th. Doggie treats will also be available for furry friends. The public will be encouraged to post their photos for the Our Kaka‘ako Facebook and Instagram platforms with the hashtag #OurKakaakoEaster.

COVID-19 social distancing guidelines will be in place throughout the event, and all participants will be required to wear face masks. The Easter EGG-cellent Scavenger Hunt is sponsored in part by the Kaiāulu ‘o Kaka‘ako Owners Association
