2016 KSK Convocation

What a way to kick start the school year! KS Kapālama elementary, middle and high school haumāna came together in Kekūhaupi‘o Gym for the campus’ annual convocation – a joyous celebration with music, dance, inspiration and fellowship. The event culminated with the traditional torch relay around the gym.

KS Kapālama elementary, middle and high school haumāna came together in Kekūhaupi‘o Gym for the campus’ annual convocation – a joyous celebration with music, dance, inspiration and fellowship.




The campus convocation began with the blowing of a conch shell and a shofar (ram’s horn) symbolize the joining of Christian and Hawaiian values,




KSK Elementary School music teachers Lynell Bright and Gayla Traylor lead the musicians as the keiki present their contribution to the convocation.

Each class from kindergarten to 12th grade carried the torches around the gym symbolizing the passing of kuleana from one class to the next.




The lifer seniors (admitted to KS in kindergarten) carried the kindergarten students on the final leg of the relay.




The cheerleaders lead the convocation in singing the school’s song, ‘Sons of Hawai’i.’
