Kamehameha Schools announced that its O‘ahu business (including Kawaiaha‘o Plaza) and community sites will close at 2:00 pm Thursday. This is in addition to today’s closures of its Hawai'i and Maui campuses and preschools that were announced Wednesday. KS Kaua‘i education and business sites remain open as usual today.

Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i's annual hō‘ike will once again feature a Hawaiian opera on March 13th and 14th at Koai‘a Gymnasium. This year's hō‘ike tells the story of the battle of Kuamo‘o that took place after a power struggle following Kamehameha the Great's death. This eventually resulted in the end of the kapu system.

Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i and Maui campuses were recently granted an accreditation term of six years by the Hawai‘i Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) – the longest term attainable for member schools. This is the second six-year accreditation for both campuses which were started in 1996.
