KS bids a heartfelt ‘Aloha’ to Trustee Corbett Kalama [VIDEO]

KS Trustee Corbett Kamoa Kalama once went from paddling the Moloka‘i Channel to a Kamehameha graduation without missing a stroke. This and other mo‘olelo were shared by members of the KS ‘ohana as they bid farewell to Kalama, whose term as trustee ended on June 30.

In 1990, as a result of a decline in koa, Sealaska, a corporation owned by the Tlingit, Haida and Tshimshian tribes of Southeast Alaska, gifted two 200-foot Sitka spruce logs to Hawai‘i to help construct Polynesian Voyaging Society’s wa‘a Hawai‘iloa.
