Distance learning underway

Whether we are students, families, alumni, teachers or staff, all of us in the KS ‘ohana play an important role in responding to the spread of COVID-19. By staying at home to study, teach and work, we can help protect the health of our community. At this time, it is not clear how long this public health emergency will persist.

All KS campuses and preschools will begin distance learning after spring break

In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, Kamehameha Schools announced all three of its K-12 campuses and its 29 preschools will implement their respective distance learning and educational support programs when school resumes after their respective spring breaks. During this period, there will be no on-campus student instruction or student activities.

KS ‘Ohana prepares to honor Charles Reed Bishop

Bishop believed in the transformative power of education and supported many other schools in shaping the future of education in Hawai’i. The schools included Punahou School, Mills Institute (now known as Mid–Pacific Institute), St. Andrew’s Priory, Sacred Hearts Academy, Makawao Female Seminary, and the Hilo Boys’ Boarding School.

As Dr. Scott Parker took some time to address a large group of 2010 and ’19 graduates from Kamehameha Schools Maui just moments after they all returned to campus for the annual Founder’s Day ceremony, the po‘o kula’s message was one that resonated for anyone fortunate enough to have benefitted from Ke Ali‘i Bernice Pauahi Bishop’s generosity.
