Born and raised in Southern California, Coach Chris has always been a leader and continues to have passion for adventure and new horizons. An enthusiastic and passionate educator, he is also a multi-sport athlete, coach, and official. Christopher has enjoyed work and recreation throughout the Western United States. Currently he resides on the island of Maui where his passion for excellence has most recently led him to the discovery of opportunity in the field of Education. In 2013, he earned his State of Hawaii, Substitute Teaching Certificate and in 2014 he joined the Department of Education with a full time position as Math Teacher at Lahaina Intermediate School Since arriving on Maui in 2010, he has become an active member of the community with his employers and involvement in the MIL basketball and water polo programs. After filling the need of the school and community at Lahaina Intermediate School as a math teacher for the last two years, Coach Chris now teaches Physical Education at Kalama Intermediate School in Makawao.
As a player, Coach Chris received league honors (Del Rey League HS), competed for Flagstaff Arizona (collegiate club level), and Mira Costa Masters Water Polo Club (Manhattan Beach, CA). In addition to his 20+ years of coaching and officiating youth sports, he also led Baldwin HS to a 7th place HHSAA finish in 2014. He chose to coach at KSM as an opportunity to give back to the sport of water polo, while providing an opportunity for student-athletes to continue growing and developing as part of the program.
His hobbies include: cycling, golfing, and surfing. In the off season, he enjoys spending time with his parents, siblings, and nine nieces and nephews.
