KS Kapālama update #7

A message from Poʻo Kula Dr. Taran Chun

November 5, 2020

Aloha kākou,

The Halloween decorations have been stored and keiki are just now coming down from their sugar highs while we head deeper into the wintery holiday season. With more haumāna returning to campus, I am thrilled to see the excited energy that continues to grow here at Kapālama.

As always, if you have any questions about any of the items shared in this update, please do not hesitate to contact my office or your po‘o kumu for assistance.

MORE HAUMĀNA RETURNING TO CAMPUS

With every passing week, we continue our gradual approach to welcoming haumāna back to campus. In classrooms, at practice, in rehearsal - everyone is becoming more familiar with our new guidelines and protocols. The energy is undeniable!

STUDENT TRAVEL GUIDELINES

We have updated our travel guidelines for KS students to align with recent announcements made by state and county government officials. Our new travel policy website for KS Kapālama students outlines the procedural updates as well as considerations that should be made prior to traveling.

Please visit KS Kapālama student travel website: What you need to know for more information, or contact your po‘o kumu office.

IF YOU ARE COMING TO CAMPUS, DONʻT FORGET THE ONLINE STUDENT WELLNESS CHECK-IN

For haumāna who are coming to campus, donʻt forget to complete your online daily Wellness Check-In before arriving to school. This wellness check-in is a key step in ensuring we are doing our part to keep our school community safe.

Check our Student Wellness Check-In flyer for more information including how to create a shortcut on your mobile device home screen. Or access the online form directly.

BISHOP MEMORIAL CHAPEL OPEN FOR MEMORIAL SERVICES

In support of our Kamehameha Schools ‘ohana, the Bishop Memorial Chapel has decided to re-open for memorial services effective November 16, 2020. While there are restrictions in place to keep our community safe, our hope is that by offering memorial services, we can help bring comfort to our ‘ohana during these times.

For more information, contact the Bishop Memorial Chapel office at 842-8204 or view the announcement and considerations online.

NEW ISSUE OF ECHO OF OUR SONG
