Incoming Freshmen and New Invitees

Welina mai e nā haumāna! Welcome students, to our Kamehameha Kapālama ‘ohana!

We’re excited that you’ll be joining us and look forward to getting to know you throughout your journey here.

Please refer to your student & parent handbook (which can be downloaded here) for detailed and complete information regarding our policies and services. Here are just a few questions we anticipate you might have as you get started. If you have a question that isn’t covered in the handbook or here, feel free to reach out to Parent & Alumni Relations Office at  (808) 842-8680. Course Registration

Nīnau (question): Are there any mandatory classes I must enroll in each year?

Pane (answer): Solids include English, math, science, social studies, speech and languages. You will be required to take 3 solid credits in grades 9 and 10 and 3.5 in grades 11 and 12.

Nīnau: When I can get study help? 

Pane: Study help sessions take place during unscheduled periods and can also be arranged before school or during teacher preparation- you can make arrangements directly with your teacher.

Financial Aid

Nīnau: Who is eligible to apply for financial aid and is it too late?

Pane: The application process is open to all applicants currently attending or who have been invited to attend one of the three Kamehameha Schools campuses. The application window for the 2020-2021 school year opens on August 15, 2019. The priority deadline is February 29, 2020. The final deadline is June 30, 2020. Nīnau: Can I get assistance completing my KS financial aid application?

Pane: Yes. We have Regional Service Centers that can assist you with your financial aid application. Please take your 2018 tax documents and 2019 W2s with you when going to a Regional Service Center for kōkua. Nīnau: Who do I contact for questions regarding my tuition and fees account or about setting up my FACTS Account?

Pane: Please contact the Kapālama Cashier’s Office at (808) 842-8084 for assistance.

Camp Kū Mauna 

Nīnau: What is Camp Kū Mauna?

Pane: Camp Kū Mauna is a mandatory one day on-campus orientation for Freshman students.

Nīnau: Do medical forms need to be completed prior to participation?

Pane: Yes, the list of required forms can be found at http://ohana.ksbe.edu. All forms are due on June 1.

Health Requirements

Nīnau: What forms do I need to complete and where do I submit them?

Pane: Please visit the Mālama Ola homepage to access the health forms required to submit. All medical forms are to be uploaded through the Mo‘ōmo‘ali Olakino Electronic Health Records (EHR) system at ohana.ksbe.edu.
