Senior Planning and Development Manager – Kaʻōnohi, Kakaʻako, Waiawa, and Waipahū
Larry Sumida is responsible for creating asset value through planning, development and execution of master plans for Kamehameha Schools’ development areas in Kaʻōnohi, Kakaʻako, Waiawa, and Waipahū. Duties include financial feasibility, due diligence, entitlements and permitting, capital project budgeting, marketing and leasing, partner relationships, and other development activities.
Prior to joining Kamehameha Schools in 2016, Larry served as the director of Real Estate Development of the Hawai‘i Region for Pacific Links International with primary responsibility for assembling developable lands in Makaha Valley and assisting with master planning a world-class destination resort.
His work history also includes time with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i as the director of Educational and Physical Facilities for the University of Hawai‘i – West O‘ahu campus.
Larry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with distinction in marketing from the UH Mānoa.
A former deep-sea fishman, Larry now enjoys spending his free time golfing, remodeling his home, and mentoring professional recently entering the development industry.
