Girls Basketball claims their 12th BIIF DII Championship with a 33-26 victory over HPA.

Warriors return to glory as BIIF DII Girls Basketball Champs

Jan. 30, 2020

Senior Nique Pacheco and her teammates would not be denied. A hard-fought 33-26 victory over HPA to grab the 2019-2020 BIIF DII title and fill up another banner in Koaiʻa, earning the program its 12th overall BIIF Championship after missing the title game last year.

Warriors earn a seeded berth into the state tournament with the victory. They'll play next week, starting on Thursday 2/6 in the quarterfinals of the HHSAA DII Girls Basketball tournament. The bracket will be posted on sportshigh.com once all other leagues finish their placements. Games will take place in our backyard as the tournament will be hosted at the Hilo Civic Auditorium, giving us a good chance to cheer on our squad to another state title run.

A recap of last night's DII Basketball Championship game and our Warrior's return to glory is available on the Hawaiʻi Tribune-Herald

Or you can watch a rebroadcast of the game on Nā Leo TV on Thursday, January 30 at 4 p.m. and on-demand soon.

See more pics from the game on our social media channels (Instagram or Facebook page).
