No ka mea, ʻaʻole au i hilahila i ka ʻeuanelio no Kristo; no ka mea, ʻo ko ke Akua mana ia e ola ai, no kēlā mea, no kēia mea manaʻoʻiʻo; no ka Iudaio mua, a no ka Helene hoʻi. I am not ashamed of the Good News. It is the power of God. It is the way He saves men from the punishment of their sins if they put their trust in Him. It is for the Jew first and all other people also. The Good News tells us we are made right with God by faith in Him. Then, by faith, we live that new life through Him. The Holy Writings say, “A man right with God lives by faith.”

He manaʻo o ke kahu
I love talking to our haumāna during chapel, and I love doing devotions with our football players and coaches. I love it because it is in those learning environments where I am at my best. I am bold because my passion for Jesus is authentic, believable. Faith is the victory! Paul is confirming his status, his attitudes, and his behavior towards the Gospel of Jesus. He chooses to be bold in his acknowledgment of this revelation and truth through affirming his faith with total trust in the person and deity of Jesus. He also puts a stamp on the importance of faith (belief without doubt) and what it does to support his (our) journey of trusting God, our Triune God in every situation. He also confirms that the WORD (Holy Writings) is food for our faith.

Being bolder doesn’t mean carrying a hammer all the time to explain your faith or describe someone’s need for Jesus. Personally, being bolder means walking humbly with God’s Spirit, and following the example of Jesus’ character whereby he humbled himself before the Father and remained obedient to his purpose. What does this mean to me? It means that I need to continue my morning devotions, readings, and studies so that God’s word remains planted firmly in my mind. With God’s will within me and my faith intact, I need to lean upon the power of the Holy Spirit to stabilize my emotions which impact my thoughts which influence my actions. When these three elements are in place it encourages us to have fruitful relationships with others. Finally, being bold means embracing accountability. We need to have people in our life who will minister with us, minister to us, and keep us on the right path with Ke Akua.

E pule: Dear Lord Jesus, I adore You, my King and Friend. May our thoughts, our words, our actions, and our relationships give You glory. We stand before You to humbly ask that You protect all who are choosing to love You, put our faith in You, and each other as we work together to learn from Your word, guided by Your Holy Spirit. We humbly ask that You encourage us to reach out and walk with those people who are hurting and need the peace of Christ in their hearts and minds. Lord, please bless our families, our children, our friends, our communities, and our spheres of influence. Give us Your wisdom so we have an answer that is pono for all who ask about our faith. Bless us with opportunities for boldness that requires our total dependence on You. Ma ka inoa ʻo Iesū, ʻāmene.
