Watch the 2020 End of Year Convocation

May. 15, 2020

Contributed by Shaundor Chillingworth

On behalf of Kahu Kaunaloa Boshard and Poʻo Kula M. Kāhealani Naeʻole-Wong, Kamehameha Hawaiʻi is proud to present our 2020 End of Year Convocation.

A special tradition each year for our kula is the End of Year Convocation, when we come together as a campus to celebrate our annual spiritual theme and how we have progressed in our relationship with Ke Akua. The Kamehameha Schools 2019-2020 Spiritual Theme is "ʻIke Piha ʻIa A Aloha Piha ʻIa" or "Fully Known and Fully Loved". It reminds all of us that Ke Akua Mana loa has created us for good purposes, and loves each of us unconditionally!

While circumstances have forced us to adapt, keiki kahu and alakaʻi come together to put together to celebrate this important message, rejoice in our love of Ke Akua, and in the example of our founder, Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop, prayerfully and purposely move forward in honoring our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thankfully, this new delivery will allow more of our ʻohana to experience these messages alongside with haumāna, and we hope that you can do so with your keiki. Enjoy messages of hope and resilience from our keiki kahu as well as beautiful performances from throughout the year and created specifically for this program.

The 2020 End of Year Convocation will premiere TONIGHT, Friday, May 15 at 6 p.m. on our Kamehameha Schools YouTube channel and on the Kamehameha Hawaiʻi Facebook page. After the premiere, you can enjoy on-demand viewing of the program at your convenience. A link and embedded player will also be available on this page below.

We are Protestant in tradition, non-denominational in practice, and loving in all things. We believe that Kamehameha Schools, as a Christian institution, has a responsibility to practice and perpetuate the Christian faith as exemplified by Ke Ali‘i Pauahi by:

  • Fostering faith in Ke Akua and in His Word as our foundation;
  • Integrating Christian values into its programs and services;
  • Providing the necessary learning opportunities, resources and training to deepen the understanding of Scripture and the Christian faith;
  • Nurturing the relationship and the responsibility of its learners to Ke Akua and His creation, and;
  • Living out our faith by practicing servant leadership.

Discover more about our Christian commitment at www.ksbe.edu/our_faith.

We celebrate our 2019-2020 Spiritual theme, with a special production premiering tonight at 6 p.m.

Hear powerful manaʻo from our keiki kahu, like Kula Waena keiki kahu Kaʻōiwi Jeong, who share their feelings about our current pandemic and the clarity in knowing to put our faith in Christ to see us through this.
