Jul. 3, 2020

E Nā ʻOhana o Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha Hawaiʻi nei ē, aloha nui ʻoukou a pau,

We hope you and your keiki are enjoying your summer and have had time to talk about the next school year based on information we shared with you last week. We believe it’s important to ensure that everyone is informed about our plan to keep our Kamehameha Hawaiʻi ‘ohana safe and healthy while continuing to deliver an extraordinary learning experience for your child.

Distance Learning Selection

In last week’s communication, we shared important news on learning models, our new school year calendar dates, and safety measures being implemented for the upcoming school year which begins Wednesday, August 12. Mai poina, you may designate distance learning as your preference for the entire first half of your child’s school year. You will have an opportunity to revisit your choice in December 2020 for the second half of the school year.

If you prefer on-campus instruction when school reopens in August, no further action is necessary. Log in to KS Connect only if you would like to select distance learning from home as your preference by the end of today.

Back-to-School-Plan

We are excited to begin the new school year, and I am pleased to announce that Kamehameha Hawaiʻi’s back-to-school plan is now available on our website. You will find additional information about what you can expect when school resumes in August. This plan is a result of Kamehameha Hawaiʻi’s work alongside KS’ Enterprise Safety and Student Well-Being Team, comprised of medical and safety professionals who have consulted with government agencies and health experts to build a comprehensive blueprint for resuming our educational activities responsibly. We are prepared to provide a safe and supportive learning experience for your child, and even as the pandemic continues to evolve, you can feel confident in our ability to adjust school operations to meet changing standards as guided by public health officials.

Mahalo nui loa for staying connected and informed as we ramp up to the start of SY 20-21 at Kamehameha Hawaiʻi. Moving forward, you can also expect more details about the campus experience at the school level from your division poʻo kumu.

‘O au iho nō me ke aloha kauhale ē,
