Nineteen keiki artists earn a spot in community art show

This is the first year that KS Hawaiʻi has entered art work as a kula into the Hawaiʻi Nei show.

Hoʻomaikaʻi to 19 of our keiki artists, whose works were selected to be exhibited in the Hawaiʻi Nei 2019 art show. The exhibition will run from November 1 to December 12 at the Wailoa Center in Hilo.

Hawaiʻi Nei 2019 is a juried art exhibition featuring native species of Hawaiʻi Island. This year’s featured category was Kō Ā Kai - Marine Species.

The keiki selected are:

Grade 1

Isabella Yamamoto, Cacia Bowden, Keyra Lee Loy, Saybri Enos, Tacoma Castillo, Aureana Hoshide, Kinohe Klask Hoopii, Prince Kaluhimoku

Grade 2

Silas Cook, Khloe Ontiveros, Melanie Savella, Taylor Tuares-Aghbigay, Aleki Yaghin, Kui Brown, Wailea Cretton, Bently Santana,. Brady Shiroma, Kaloku Angeleo

Grade 4

Rylie DeLima-Suganuma

Some students submitted work on their own and others were submitted through KS.

“I am super excited as this is the first year we have submitted art work,” shared art kumu Tana Rosehill.
