Kamehameha Hawaiʻi Class of 2015 alumni Chase Tanaka and Sachi Iwata are both RNs and serving on the frontlines in Arizona in COVID-19 units at their hospitals. Both were gracious enough to record a quick video to share their experiences, why we need to hoʻomau in times like these, and offer their voices of hope to get us through these challenging times. Watch their message below.
Sachi's mom is current Kula Haʻahaʻa student activities coordinator Nikki Iwata, who shared the fear and anxiety she had when learning they would be stationed in this unity, and how that magnified the empathy she felt towards our ʻohana who may be dealing with challenges we have no idea about. How we need to focus on what truly is important. And that we can look to our faith and pray to God, putting the questions we may have out there for guidance. And through the way things unfolded to bring this message together she could see the confirmation that that God works in HIS timing and in HIS way.
"Yes, unfortunately we go through anxiety, stress, worry and fear to name a few but there's nothing we can't handle if we are walking alongside Jesus! He is the way! " shared Nikki.
Chase Tanaka and Sachi Iwata are members of our Kua Paiʻea, class of 2015 graduating class, and are serving as registered nurses in Arizona right now.
