Remember when the Stanford Talisman group visited KS Maui?

Well, they just released a 10-minute documentary called “The ʻUlu Tree” that highlights all of their stops while on their Spring 2018. One of those stops, of course, included our campus.

Read "Stanford’s Dumisile Mphamba stops by on musical tour" by Ka Leo o Nā Koa sports editor Brianne Reformina for more from that visit.

Stanford Talisman just released a documentary about their experience in Hawaiʻi during their Spring 2018 Tour. Our KS Maui haumāna are featured, including some manaʻo from senior Ikaika Mendez (hear his manaʻo at 4:06).

Talisman is an a cappella group at Stanford University that was founded in 1990 to sing music that tells cultural stories that often went untold on Stanford's campus, with repertoire hailing from around the world. Since its inception, Talisman continues to dedicate itself to the sharing of human stories through song.

Take a watch and hear more about what they learned in their visit to Hawaiʻi and listen to the beautiful melodies they create and some really powerful thoughs shared.

Hawaiian Ensemble haumāna teach the Talisman group one of the performances from their Aotearoa tour.
