Peruse locally grown produce at the peak of freshness, arts and crafts from local vendors, freshly prepared food and much more.
If variety is the spice of life then be prepared to spice things up at the Our Kakaʻako Farmer’s Market. Starting Jan. 10, Our Kakaʻako will be hosting a farmer’s market every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the courtyard at the Flats at Puʻunui, located on KS land. Peruse locally grown produce at the peak of freshness, arts and crafts from local vendors, freshly prepared food and much more.
This weekly event is perfect for those concerned with minimizing their carbon footprint while also sampling the diversity of Hawaiʻi’s food and art. The farmer’s market will provide a wide variety of food, produce, and artisanal goods for patrons, while also cutting down on fossil fuels and the resources required for shipping. It is the perfect gathering place to support local entrepreneurs and discover new recipes and ideas.
“The weekly farmer’s market will really connect the community to its local resources; attendees can interact with farmers, cooks, and artisans, building a rapport that gives people a chance to see how and where food is produced,” said Gary Evora, KS commercial real estate senior asset manager. “Hawaiʻi residents are very self-aware of the economic and environmental benefits that come with shopping local, and the farmer’s market brings sustainable, affordable options right to the center of a social hub for family, friends, artists and cultural practitioners.”
“Our Kakaʻako is dedicated to building a unique, local community, and this farmer’s market emphasizes those ideals while also promoting food sustainability for a vibrant Hawai’i.” said Evora.
The Flats at Puʻunui is located at 440 Keawe Street. Parking garage entrance is located on Pohukaina Street. For more information, visit OurKakaako.com.
