Ka Papa Lo‘i ‘o Kānewai has partnered with Kamehameha Schools to host the family-friendly Mālama Hāloa Festival on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Punalu‘u Ahupua‘a Farms across the street from Punalu‘u Beach Park on KS ‘āina.

The public is invited to the annual event, which will feature multiple varieties of kalo, artwork, Hawaiian food, merchandise, music and more. As a reminder, only cash will be accepted for those looking to purchase items at the festival.

The group is directed by KS Kapālama alum Hiapo Cashman, and it also operates Ka Papa Lo‘i ‘o Punalu‘u as a KS ‘Āina Ulu collaborator and caretaker, which services more than 3,000 people annually.

Saturday’s event also coincides with the new Farmers Market at Punalu‘u Ahupua‘a Farms, which features fresh produce and multiple vendors.
