KSK graduate honored by Honolulu City Council as youngest member elected to O‘ahu Neighborhood Board

Prior to graduating from KS Kapālama earlier in 2019, Tehani Malterre campaigned for and was elected to the Hawai‘i Kai Neighborhood Board No. 1, Subdistrict 9. The 18-year-old public servant, who is currently studying environmental science at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, was one of 553 candidates who participated in the neighborhood board election process and was the youngest to be elected. KS alumnus leads through service

Alvin Pau‘ole has accomplished a lot in his life since graduating from Kamehameha Schools in 1956. He was the first minority in the nation to be selected to the Navy’s Nuclear Power Training Program, the only Native Hawaiian to serve as chief engineer of a nuclear reactor plant, and the only Hawaiian to command a fast attack nuclear submarine and a squadron of nuclear submarines.
