How to apply

Kamehameha Schools’ offers need-based aid to supplement educational costs (tuition and bus transportation) for students to attend summer school at one of its three K-12 campuses. Summer is an extension of the current 2020-2021 school year.

The application process for Summer 2021 is open to NEW students and siblings of current KS students. See additional program enrollment information.

Submit financial documentation

We require you to submit your 2018 W-2 forms, signed federal tax return and any non-taxable income document listed on your application.

If applicable: If you were financially impacted by COVID-19, you may submit your last two paystubs, any unemployment benefits statement and an explanation of circumstances detailing your financial situation.

Await your decision letter

Kamehameha Schools decision letters will be sent out in April 2021, in coordination with the summer school program invitation packet.

Yes, financial aid is available to non-Kamehameha Schools students for the summer school programs offered at the Kamehameha Schools campuses.
The summer school application needs to be completed for each child.
No, a Kamehameha Schools student currently receiving financial aid for the 2020-2021 school year DOES NOT need to complete a summer school financial aid application. Eligibility for summer school financial aid will be sent in December 2020.
Siblings of a current Kamehameha Schools student receiving financial aid for 2020-2021 school year must complete an Admissions application. Applicants in this category are not required to submit financial information with their application.
Yes, current recipient receiving a PKS or Kipona Scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year are required to submit an Admissions application and required financial information by the postmarked program deadline.
The financial aid application is an extension of the summer school Admissions application. Families may complete the online application through the Admissions website.
No, there is no fee to complete the KS online summer school application.
Application deadline is Feb. 15, 2021. Applications received after deadline will not be processed. All decisions made by Financial Aid and Scholarships Services are final.
Divorce, separation or never marrying does not relieve birth parents from their financial responsibility for their child’s education. KS will determine if both birth parents will be required to provide financial information and will contact parent about the application process.
Custodial parent may submit an explanation of circumstances to help KS understand the current family situation with the whereabouts of a birth parent. The explanation of circumstances will be reviewed, and additional information may be requested.
No, any circumstances that occur after the program deadline will not be considered.

  • 2018 signed federal income tax return
    • All tax return schedules
    • All employer-issued W-2 forms
  • Any non-taxable income document listed on your application
    • Public assistance (TANF, SNAP, etc.)
    • Child support
  • Court-approved custody documentation
  • Ward of State documentation
