FAQ

Internships allow you to gain a competitive edge on tomorrow’s workforce, apply academic learning to real world settings, develop new skills and competencies, learn from and network with professionals in your chosen field, and will increase your hiring potential upon graduation.
Internships are available in a wide variety of fields from both private, government, and not-for-profit sectors statewide. If you are interested in participating and would like to increase the likelihood that we will have internship opportunities related to your educational field on a particular island, please contact us to let us know.
We have participating internship sites that offer both paid and unpaid internships. Internship stipends may be available for qualified status, refer to the stipend page in the program handbook for more information or visit the Kāpili ‘Oihana section on the Career Pathway Unit website.
We currently do not have any agreements with any college or universities. If you are interested in earning a credit for your internship, notify your site as early as possible that you are seeking credit for your internship. Please work direclty with your school and internship site to create an internship experience that meets your schools internship credit requirement(s).
