BEN SALAZAR, Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Ben Salazar is the vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Kamehameha Schools. The Finance Group is comprised of four divisions: Enterprise Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, Controller and Treasury. Salazar and his team are charged with balancing the resources needed to finance KS’ strategic plans, while preserving the endowment for future generations, into perpetuity.

Salazar has held several leadership positions since joining KS in 2005. Prior to being named chief financial officer, he served as KS’ financial risk manager and treasurer. Before joining KS, Salazar was a manager at KPMG LLP and controller at National Mortgage and Finance.

In addition to fulfilling his leadership role at KS, he currently serves as board member for the Coalition for a Drug Free Hawaii, American Heart Association and is a former trustee at the Historic Hawaii Foundation.

Salazar holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and a master of accounting degree from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
