Doe VS Kamehameha Rehearing
On June 20, 2006, 15 U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judges will rehear the legal challenge to
Kamehameha Schools' policy of offering admissions preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry. The court's en banc review sets aside the August 2005 three-judge appeals court decision that overturned
Kamehameha Schools' admissions policy by 2-1.

Each year, the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame honors those who have been instrumental in creating and perpetuating Hawai`i's unique musical "voice". The 2006 Inductees, Alfred Alohikea, Bill Ali'iloa Lincoln, and Henry W. Waia'u, were honored with performances by Ale'a, Holunape, Patricia A. Murray, Emma
Veary, the Waia'u 'Ohana, Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus, and the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Glee Club.

The Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame's in-school
education program offers a unique opportunity for Hawai'i's children to learn about Hawaiian history and music through the compositions of Na Lani Eha, the Hawaiian composers known as "The Royal Four." The 12-week program is offered in Hawaii's public schools.
 
         
    INPEACE Keiki Steps
The mission of the Institute for Native Pacific Education and CulturE is to improve the quality of life for
Native Hawaiians through education. By easing the transition from home to pre-school, their Keiki Steps program is doing just that.
 
         
   

Mele Inoa Workshop for Fathers
Mele Inoa, a chant created in honor of a person, is a uniquely Hawaiian art form that has been taken up by a special group of young fathers in Waimanalo.

 
         
    Maui / Hawaii Campus Graduation
This segment marks what may be the start of a new Kamehameha Schools tradition. Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i and Maui campus seniors came together on O'ahu to visit Mauna'ala and the Bishop Memorial Chapel, for a day of thanksgiving and reflection.
