The 2005-2006 school year started for Kamehameha

Hawaiian students eager to learn, and Hawaiian families grateful
for the gift that has been passed down to them through generations
by Ke Ali'i Pauahi. |

The State of Hawaii, and many others, are filing court papers
in support of Kamehameha Schools and its work. And, the Hawaii
Association of Independent Schools, an organization of Hawaii's
private schools, believes that our community is best served
when private schools are allowed to remain independent. |

future. But look into the faces of the Hawaiian youngsters we
serve and some things remain
crystal clear. |

Student Roundtable with Trustee Thompson
In addition to academics and extra curricular activities, students
at Kamehameha must now deal with emotions stirred up by the
controversy. At the end of a busy first week of school, a group
of Kapalama campus seniors were invited to share their thoughts
and feelings with trustee Nainoa Thompson. |
