Lecture Series
In an effort to educate students about important legal issues
that will impact their future, the Kamehameha dormitory on
the Kapalama campus is hosting a lecture series entitled,
"Our Rights at Risk: A Look at What's at Stake for Hawaiians."
Students learn that without federal recognition, Native Hawaiians
are faced with frequent legal challenges seeking to end their
entitlements, resources and rights. |

The
Hawaiians: Edgy Lee Video
In this story we'll take a look at a one-hour long documentary
made by a local videomaker, focusing on the history and culture
of the Native Hawaiian people. The film captures the history
of Hawaii, from the arrival of Europeans and missionaries,
the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy, and the struggle to
maintain and preserve a culture nearly lost. |
