During spring vacation, when many students were enjoying a well-deserved break, Kamehameha high school students from the Maui and Kapalama campus reconnected with their faith and an important part of history during a visit to Kalaupapa-the settlement for Hansen's Disease patients on the island of Molokai.

This story is about a young woman who loves teaching- and whose dreams are coming true thanks to a Kamehameha Schools scholarship devoted to developing more Hawaiian teachers.

Young musicians who play the stand-up bass got a real treat over the spring break. Some of the world's most renowned bass players gathered on the Kapalama campus for a weeklong festival of sharing and teaching.

Movie-goers wold wide had their heart strings tugged and their cultural eyes opened thanks to the movie, Whale Rider, the story of a Maori girl, her grandfather and their struggle to hold fast to tradition and culture in a changing world.
