Kamehameha Schools has named Kevin Greenwell senior director of Portfolio Strategy and Finance within its Commercial Real Estate Division.

Greenwell will develop KS’ Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Strategy, ensuring the achievement of appropriate risk-adjusted returns within the 1,500 acres of the commercial real estate portfolio.

He will also work closely with the KS Financial Assets and Finance divisions to optimize KS’ overall Endowment Fund investment performance, while directing analysis of key commercial real estate transactions to ensure alignment with KS’ overall investment objectives.

Greenwell was principal of KMG Advisory LLC (KMGA), an independent consultancy providing financial advisory, analytical and asset management services across the real estate sector to clients including KS, A&B Properties and the Queen Lilʻiuokalani Trust.

“Greenwell is a welcome addition to the CRED team, and brings the high-level knowledge, expertise, and professionalism needed to advance KS’ commercial real estate strategies,” said CRED Managing Director Walter Thoemmes. “We are honored to have Kevin join the KS’ ʻohana and look forward to his contribution to advancing KS’ mission and vision for a thriving lāhui.”

Prior to launching KMGA, Greenwell worked for Deloitte & Touche in the San Francisco office of its Financial Advisory Services practice.  Prior to that, he worked for Arthur Andersen in the Los Angeles office of its Strategy, Finance and Economics practice.

“I am privileged to help advance the investment strategy for such a unique portfolio of assets, in support of a mission that makes our entire community better,” said Greenwell.  “It’s a pleasure to work closely with KS’ team of talented professionals.”

Greenwell was born and raised on O‘ahu, where he attended Punahou School.  He holds a BA in political science from the University of Arizona, and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
