Ben Salazar joined Kamehameha Schools in 2005 as financial risk manager for its Treasury Division. He was promoted to director of Treasury in 2007, overseeing cash management, debt, risk management, appraisal and long-term financial modeling.
In addition to his interim duties, Salazar serves as Kamehameha’s managing director of Finance.
As a certified public accountant, Salazar started his career as an assurance manager at KPMG LLP, specializing in and leading its insurance practice. He later joined National Mortgage & Finance Company as its controller.
Born in American Samoa, Salazar grew up in Waipahu and later moved to Wahiawā. He graduated from Leilehua High School and went on to earn a B.B.A. in accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
