In January 2018, M. Kāhealani Nae‘ole-Wong was named Kamehameha’s interim executive vice president of Education.
Nae‘ole-Wong also serves as the po‘o kula (head of school) for Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i (KSH), a K-12 campus that serves approximately 1,150 students.
She has served KSH in a variety of roles, starting as the high school academy coordinator, the po‘o kumu o ke Kula Ha‘aha‘a (elementary school principal) and then the assistant head of school.
She is a former vice principal at Waiākea Elementary School, Waiākea High School and Mountain View Elementary School and she previously served in a variety of capacities at Ke Kula Kaiapuni Hawai‘i.
A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Hawaiian studies from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, and she carries two master’s degrees — one in curriculum and instruction and the other in educational administration, both from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
