The Kamehameha Schools’ Community Relations Department (CRD) is committed to supporting the educational vision and mission of our founder, Ke Ali`i Bernice Pauahi Bishop: to create educational opportunities in perpetuity to improve the capability and well-being of people of Hawaiian ancestry. We do so through community relationship-building and interaction; internal collaboration and support; and through coordinating community events correlated to specific KS initiatives.
Our Kuleana
Increasing community awareness and interest in all that Kamehameha has to offer has led to coordinating the participation of KS programs and services at numerous community sponsored events such as Hawaiian organizations’ annual conferences and conventions, and community fairs and festivals in Hawaiian communities.
In addition, when there are key issues that need to be addressed or new, exciting initiatives to share, CRD will develop and implement special events to bring together community members, organizations, trusts and partners to achieve shared goals with lōkahi (unity).
Whether it is collaborating with colleagues and community organizations to provide information about programs, services and processes; organizing special community events; or coordinating events in response to KS-related challenges and issues, the Community Relations Department is here to support Kamehameha Schools’ mission and vision.
